Low Self-Esteem

You can reach out your hands, but I am certain you will not feel anything, yet it affects you. You cannot see it, yet it haunts you every time you look yourself in the mirror. You hear nothing, and yet it's there every time you speak of yourself. What is this? Self esteem of course! It is an intangible asset.

Esteem is referred to as the value or importance you view someone or something. Self-esteem would mean how much you value yourself and how significant you think you are. In short, it is the perception of yourself and your achievements.

Don't get me wrong, it definitely isn't about bragging about your potential and abilities. On the contrary, it's more like quietly knowing that you are priceless. No, it's not about being perfect, because, by the end of the day, nobody is. It's about knowing that you are worthy of being loved and accepted.

Many people suffer from low self esteem. Building self esteem will help you live life to the fullest. In order to boost self esteem, you can make an affirming list. For instance, make a list of at least five of your strengths, the thing you admire about yourself, the greatest achievements in your life so far. You can go further by making a list of 10 ways you can treat or reward yourself or 10 ways you can make yourself laugh, 10 ways you can help someone else or 10 things you can do to make yourself feel good.
